Fundraising Campaign

Committee Recommendation
Membership growth remains COBA’s highest strategic priority because a strong membership base provides the financial and human resources needed to implement all other initiatives. The Association should target at least 100 paid-up members by March 2027 through class representatives, alumni ambassadors, digital engagement and personalised outreach. Executive Committee members should lead by example by remaining paid up and actively recruiting new members.

Prize Giving Day

COBA should continue recognising academic excellence by supporting the school’s annual Prize Giving Day. Assistance may include books, trophies, certificates, educational equipment or sponsored prizes. Alumni and corporate partners should be encouraged to complement COBA’s contribution through sponsorships and in-kind donations.

Career Day and Alumni Engagement Programme

The Committee recommends that COBA institutionalises an annual Career Day as a flagship programme that connects learners with accomplished alumni and professionals from diverse sectors. The event should expose learners to career pathways, entrepreneurship opportunities and tertiary education options while encouraging alumni to give back through mentorship and inspirational talks.
Career exhibitions, university participation, panel discussions, leadership sessions, CV writing workshops and interview preparation should be incorporated where feasible. The programme should also strengthen alumni-school relationships and create opportunities for internships, scholarships and workplace exposure through partnerships with employers and higher learning institutions.

Fundraising Campaign

COBA should establish a scholarship programme for academically gifted learners from disadvantaged backgrounds. Beneficiaries should be selected transparently in collaboration with the school, while sustainability should be achieved through alumni sponsorships, corporate partnerships and donor support.
